A trail for those who enjoy archaeology, mysteries and good stories. Rock inscriptions, traces of peoples who lived on Santa Catarina Island thousands of years ago, stories of pirates and the curious mystery of the missing santinho make the route especially engaging. It is also a great experience for children who are fascinated by adventures and stories from the past.

Activity Details
Located at the southern end of Praia dos Ingleses, in Florianópolis, the trail is approximately 5.5 km long and passes through areas of Parque Natural Municipal da Lagoa do Jacaré. Along the route, we reach a natural viewpoint at the top of the hill, from where it is possible to see both Praia dos Ingleses and Praia do Santinho at the same time. Along the way, we also learn about stories of pirates, old shipwrecks and the curious mystery of the missing saint figure. The route also reveals important archaeological heritage, with rock inscriptions and lithic workshops associated with peoples who inhabited the region thousands of years ago. If it is open on the day of the activity, the itinerary may also include a visit to Museu do Naufrágio.

The booking date will be confirmed upon advance payment of 25% of the total activity price. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 7 days before the activity. For bookings made less than 7 days in advance, full payment is required.

Cancellation by the customer
Cancellations made 7 days or more before the activity will receive a full refund.
For cancellations made between 7 days and 24 hours before the activity, 25% of the total amount will be retained.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the activity, or failure to attend, are non-refundable, without prejudice to any rights provided by law.
Cancellation by Família na Trilha
If the activity is cancelled by Família na Trilha due to weather conditions that may compromise safety, access difficulties, operational issues or other circumstances that prevent the activity from being carried out safely, the customer may choose between rescheduling or receiving a full refund of the amounts paid.

Yes, when the museum is open and the itinerary conditions allow, we can include a visit to Museu do Naufrágio (Shipwreck Museum). This part complements the experience by presenting other elements of the history of Ingleses, including episodes related to navigation and shipwrecks in the region.
Is the Archaeological Trail a good option for children?
Yes. It is one of the experiences that usually works very well with children because the route combines hiking, viewpoints, rock inscriptions, lithic workshops and stories that spark their curiosity. Along the way, we adapt the language and interpretation so they can actively take part in discovering the heritage. For younger children, we can also assess in advance the use of our special child carrier backpack, available for rental, suitable for children who can already sit independently and weigh up to 22 kg.

Archaeological sites become much more meaningful when we understand what we are looking at. During the guided experience, we help identify rock inscriptions, lithic workshops and other elements of the landscape, relating these traces to the ancient occupation of Santa Catarina Island. We also provide context about the history of the Ingleses and Santinho areas, making the hike richer than simply passing through the points along the route. In the private format, the pace of the hike and the stops can be adapted to the group’s profile.
